In our waterway exploration, we transitioned from Upper Street’s busy high streets into Angel’s peaceful Georgian residential neighbourhood. As we walked eastwards, the serenity was soon disturbed by the gigantic industrial cranes suspended in the mid-air. The view was uncommitted, particular at Graham Street Garden, as the scenery was built upon an oddly arranged housing estate, a derelict building, an industrial substation, and developing glossy high-rises as we reached the end of the walk at the City Road Basin. Though the urban scenery is vastly changing, one common theme is apparent to link the commercial, residential, and industrial component of Angel community altogether – the Regent’s Canal.
