A 3-minute Journey through Shanghai's Residential Neighbourhoods

The creative work of urbanist and media artist JT Singh always provides an interesting urban perspective to its representing city. This time, Singh's new film, Shanghai Forever, takes us on a 3-minute journey to see its residential area away from its symbolic skyscrapers, leading us to the simpler way of living which is typically disassociated with China's ultra modern mega-cities.

Similar to Urban Fox's Projects, Singh's work has a recurring theme on design and urbanism. Singh uses clever hyperlapse techniques and thoughtful storytelling to peel off Shanghai's urban fabric to its core residential living. The transition between Shanghai's streets, homes, and shops let us see its unique characteristic full with its local charm.

Stay put for this interesting journey. Oh, and beware of the possible dizziness ahead (slow down the playing speed if you can!).
